Isabel combines these insights to explore human complexity through her art, aiming to challenge societal norms and foster inclusivity. Emilia Flores Martínez is an Indigenous poet, writer, land defender and community leader. An artisan from the Mahseual community in Hueyapan, Puebla, Mexico. She is a creator of textiles that weave together ancestral knowledge and other ontologies with academic insights.
Martha earned her Master’s degree in Arts from the University of the Arts, UdK Berlin. She studied Contemporary dance in Colombia and completed her dance theatre and solo dance studies at the Folkwang University in Essen under the direction of Pina Bausch. She was the recipient of the prestigious Pina Bausch Fellowship.>Her creations have been showcased at festivals and venues across Europe, Asia, and the so called Americas. She serves as the artistic director of the Plataforma SurReal Berlin Festival. Her curatorial praxis reflects on (de)colonial processes and revolves around the survival strategies of artists migrating to Europe or contributing to local Abyayala utopias. In 2021& 2022, she was an associate curator at Radialsystem Berlin. She has been curator of the Bienal de Danza de Cali, Red Iberoamericana de Vídeodanza, La Sierra Artist Residency or Barazani Berlin. Hincapié Charry has cultivated several unlearning spaces focused on underrepresented BIPoC/Latinx (Black, Indigenous and People of Color/of Latin-American origin) expressions.
